INTRODUCTION TO PRECAST FOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS SEMINAR
National Precast has joined forces with Engineers Australia, Concrete Institute of Australia and Consult Australia to present this one day workshop for practising engineers. This one day workshop is presented by Nicholas Mills, BEng (Hons), PhD, Structural Engineer with Kellogg Brown and Root. Nick spent 10 years with the UK's largest precaster, Bison Concrete, where he worked with precast flooring and ancillary cube and cross wall construction.
Suited to younger engineers or engineers who are wanting to build their knowledge of precast, the workshop will help engineers to prepare for the precast future whilst helping to meet their CPD requirements.
Topics include:
- Materials & Tolerances;
- Precast Building Design;
- Manufacture, Transport & Erection;
- Design of Elements;
- Contractual Issues;
- Connections, Fixings & Joints
- Thermal, Acoustic, Fire Properties and Architectural Aspects
Attendees receive a full copy of the notes, as well as a CD of the 2nd edition, (published 2009) Precast Concrete Handbook (VALUED AT OVER $180) and an additional CD which includes a range of data on precast (including a draft precast specification in Natspec and up to date drawing notes).
We commend the seminar to you and your staff as a way of achieving effective training in precast concrete, allowing your staff to meet their CPD requirements and being prepared for the precast concrete future.
